I love the beginning of a new year, as I am starting this year out with a clean slate, a blank canvas. I imagine what the year will be like and what I would like to accomplish this year. Eating better and working out more is probably on everyone’s list of new year resolutions. But have you made some solid goals this year? Have you set a date to get these goals accomplished?
I would like to take more family vacations together. I haven’t missed a day of work in 10 years due to any illness, which means the only time I have been away from work is if I plan a vacation. I’ve been working hard at the clinic for our patients but I need to make more time for fun. I would also like to set a budget. With a newborn coming in 6 weeks, we have to start thinking about how to live within a budget and do a better job of saving up for my education.
I’ve been pretty good at setting goals and achieving success. Want to know the secret? It’s not just luck. First step is to dream BIG. I mean really BIG. Imagine reaching for the stars!! So what if you only make it to the moon. It’s still awesome you made it that far. People don’t even dream big anymore because the fear might get disappointed in failure.
When I was younger, I would dream of being a CEO of a major hospital and own the building. I also would dream of being a world class athlete doing Iron-Man triathlons. Well, I am the CEO of Eastside Primary Care and Wellness and have done shorter sprint triathlons. I am not quite there yet, but so far, I am very pleased with my progress.
I wish all of your BIG dreams will come true in 2012 and many more years to come!!!
